During the Summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to explore the capital city of China, Beijing. Travel over the historical sites in Beijing was a profound journey through the annals of China’s rich past, underscoring the city’s millennia-old history and cultural heritage.
The serene beauty of the Temple of Heaven and the tranquil elegance of the Summer Palace left me in awe, offering a glimpse into the imperial grandeur and spiritual significance that define these iconic landmarks.
THE TEMPLE OF HEAVEN
A large complex of imperial religious buildings, where the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties visited to pray to Heaven for good harvest.
SUMMER PALACE
Avast imperial garden of the Qing dynasty, with natural landscapes of hills, and open water, combined with different features of halls, temples, palaces, bridges and pavilions.
This palace was originally built as a retreat for the imperials during the summer months, due to its location on a mountain, where it offers more favorable weather conditions during the summer months.
